Brief Theology of Revelation
Colin E. Gunton
Religion / Theology
Written by one of the most significant British theologians of the 20th century, and with a new introduction by Phil Ziegler, this book examines the doctrine of revelation and establishes its proper place in theology. In six lectures Gunton analyses the concept of revelation, contends that natural theology and natural revelation are distinct, and considers revelation in relation to scripture and tradition, as well as the nature of inspiration.
This work remains an important contribution to the ongoing theological debate that argues against reducing Christianity to revelation.
Colin E. Gunton (1941-2006) was a British systematic theologian. He made contributions to the doctrine of Creation and the doctrine of the Trinity. He was professor of Christian Doctrine at King's College London, UK from 1984, and co-founder of the Research Institute for Systematic Theology, UK in 1988.
