This book showcases conversations between the disciplines of 'religion' and 'education', broadly understood. Written by leading academics across these spaces, each chapter covers a key theme from the perspective of 'religion' (including Buddhism, Islam, secularisation, queer theology and social justice) and is followed by a response from an 'education' perspective.In staging these conversations, the book seeks to foreground the productive and unpredictable ways in which religion and education can coalesce, diverge, and otherwise mutually shape one another. Written for researchers in both areas, the book shows the generative potential of interdisciplinary scholarship, foregrounding the modes of connection and care that can arise when we allow ourselves to be transformed by one another across and beyond disciplinary boundaries.
