Sites of Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Medical Humanities Research from Laboratory to Podcast

Angela Woods | Des Fitzgerald

Social Science / Research

What are the main sites of interdisciplinary collaboration in medical and health research and how, exactly, do they work?
Answering this question, this open access book uses a series of short, engaging chapters focused on topics such as the workshop, the lab, and the funder, to mark out the backgrounds, places, moments and objects where the knotty work of collaboration happens.

Offering a guide to contemporary interdisciplinary health research that eschews the often abstract and bureaucratic language of more formal 'how-to' guides, this book provides a concrete map of where interdisciplinary things are happening, and what's happening in them.

Foregrounding an interest in practical and creative applications over theoretical reflections it brings together contributors from a wide array of countries, backgrounds and disciplines to give a sense of the breadth and diversity within which interdisciplinary health research is taking place today.

The ebook editions of this book are available open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence on bloomsburycollections.com. Open access was funded by The Wellcome Trust.
