AI-Driven Carbon Capture: Transforming Climate Action offers a comprehensive and critical examination of how AI can accelerate, optimize, and govern carbon capture technologies. The book explains how data-driven methods are being applied to materials discovery, capture-route selection, enzymatic and biohybrid systems, process and storage simulation, energy-efficient operation, transparent environmental accounting, industrial deployment, and risk governance.

The chapters cover: The AI Revolution in Carbon Capture; Carbon Capture Methods and AI Integration; Enzymatic CO2 Capture and Machine Learning; AI-Enhanced Simulation for Carbon Capture and Storage; Energy-Efficient AI for Carbon Capture; Transparent AI: Accounting for Environmental Footprints; AI-Driven Carbon Capture in Case Studies and Industrial Applications; and Risks, Limitations, and Governance in AI-Driven Carbon Capture.

A central strength of the book is its balanced treatment of AI. It presents AI as a powerful enabling layer while showing that credible deployment requires physical validation, lifecycle boundaries, uncertainty quantification, transparent reporting, human authority, and audit-ready climate evidence.

Hua Song, PhD, is Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada.
