In both fields she has been a counselor, educator, trainer, and researcher. She worked as a volunteer psychologist at the Watauga County Health Department for 25 years through December 2020. Since 2001, she has a history of working as a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Services. Dr. Miller has published and presented research on counseling.
