Classical and modern techniques for natural product extraction and isolation
Purifying bioactive compounds from complex biological matrices demands reliable methods spanning established and emerging approaches. Natural Products Extraction and Isolation presents strategies and techniques for extracting and isolating compounds from plants, microorganisms, and marine organisms. Written by two recognized natural products chemists, the book connects laboratory research with applications in pharmacology, drug discovery, and related disciplines.
Coverage extends from classical chromatographic separation methods to advanced techniques including supercritical fluid extraction and applications of artificial intelligence in natural products research. The book addresses bioactive compounds from diverse biological sources, encompassing microbial and marine products alongside multiple classes of phytochemicals, providing sufficient practical detail to support direct implementation in the laboratory.
Readers will also find:
Natural Products Extraction and Isolation serves natural product chemists, organic and medicinal chemists, pharmaceutical chemists, pharmacologists, and pharmacognosists seeking an authoritative single-volume resource. Both experienced researchers and those entering the field will find practical, implementable methods grounded in current best practice.
