Unlock the blueprint for the next generation of manufacturing with this essential, expert-led guide to producing high-performance, cutting-edge materials through environmentally responsible methods without compromising on innovation or performance.

The production of advanced materials in a sustainable manner is an increasingly important area of study for business. Emerging innovations in energy, healthcare, transportation, electronics, and other fields are built on advanced materials, such as high-performance composites, nanomaterials, biomaterials, and smart materials. However, producing them frequently calls for energy-intensive procedures, dangerous chemicals, and an excess of resources. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of how cutting-edge materials can be produced through environmentally responsible methods without compromising performance or innovation. It bridges the gap between materials science and sustainable engineering, examining the entire lifecycle of advanced materials—from raw material selection and design to manufacturing processes and end-of-life considerations. Real-world case studies offer a practical look at green synthesis techniques, life cycle evaluations, energy-efficient manufacturing procedures, recycling and circular economy tactics, and the incorporation of digital technologies in the manufacture of sustainable materials. Authored by leading experts across academia and industry, this book is an essential resource for professionals and researchers striving to integrate sustainability into material development. With a focus on practical applications and future-ready solutions, this essential resource is your guide to building a cleaner, smarter manufacturing future.

Readers will find the volume:

  • Showcases cutting-edge methods that reduce waste and energy use in material production;
  • Explores advanced manufacturing techniques like additive manufacturing and nanotechnology;
  • Addresses sustainability challenges across industries—from automotive to aerospace and construction;
  • Connects materials science with market trends and environmental regulations.
