She has studied interpretation and tourism in Montana, West Virginia, Oregon, Chile, Costa Rica, and Greece. In 2006, she completed her master's thesis on geographic interpretation. Since that time, she has volunteered at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and pursued a career as a nonfiction writer. Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Interpretation Research, The Interpreter, Legacy, Base Camp Colorado, and GSA Today.
