Emily Brontë (1818–1848) was an English novelist and poet best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights. Emily was the third eldest of the four surviving Brontë siblings. Famously reserved and private, she wrote under the male pseudonym Ellis Bell. Emily died of tuberculosis aged only 30.
