Bavry is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of\r\nFlorida – Gainesville, Florida and Director of the Veteran Affairs Medical\r\nCenter Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Dr Bavry received his M.D.\r\ndegree from the University of Florida, with honors in research, and also an\r\nM.P.H. degree focusing on Quantitative Methods from Harvard University.\r\nInternal medicine residency was at the University of Arizona where he\r\nalso served as chief medicine resident. He then completed a fellowship in\r\ncardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the Cleveland\r\nClinic with specialized training in peripheral vascular and structural heart\r\ndisease and also was chief interventional cardiology fellow.\r\nDr Bavry’s career interests are acute presentations and prevention of\r\nvascular disease. He has received several awards including the Florida\r\nHeart Research – Stop Heart Disease Researcher of the Year Award in\r\n2009. He has published numerous original outcomes research manuscripts\r\nin the peer reviewed literature, edited several textbooks, and is\r\na team leader for clinical trial summaries for the American College of\r\nCardiology’s Cardiosource.\r\n\r\nDharam J. Kumbhani is currently Instructor in Medicine, and\r\nInterventional Cardiology Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and\r\nHarvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kumbhani received\r\nhis M.D. degree with honors from Grant Medical College and Sir J. J.\r\nGroup of Hospitals through the University of Mumbai. He received his\r\nMasters of Science degree in Epidemiology from Harvard University. He\r\ncompleted his internal medicine internship and residency at the University\r\nof Pennsylvania, and then a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at\r\nthe Cleveland Clinic.\r\nDr. Kumbhani’s research interests include outcomes research in acute\r\ncoronary syndromes, and following structural heart disease and peripheral\r\ninterventions. He has received numerous research accolades and was the\r\nrunner up for the American College ofCardiology’s Young Investigator\r\nAward in 2010. He has been nominated to the American College of\r\nEpidemiology and the Sigma Xi Research Society. He has authored or \r\nco-authored several peer-reviewed articles, including in the American\r\nJournal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, American Journal of\r\nMedicine, European Heart Journal, Journal of the American College\r\nof Cardiology, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.\r\nHe is a peer reviewer for a number of prestigious journals including\r\nthe Annals of Internal Medicine. He is a clinical trials team leader and\r\nmember of the editorial board for the American College of Cardiology’s\r\nCardiosource.
