He worked as a senior research scientist for the TUBITAK Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, before becoming an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University in 1994. He held a number of teaching and research positions, and is now a Professor of Renewable Energy at Marmara University.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eProfessor Uyar is a member of multiple different professional organisations. He is a founding member of the Turkish Wind Energy Association and of the Turkish section of the International Solar Energy Society.
