His articles have appeared in many prestigious journals, such as JAMA Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Harvard Review of Psychiatry, Journal of Affective Disorders, Journal of Sexual Medicine, Journal of Graduate Medical Education, and Quality of Life Research. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Psychiatric Association, American Association of Directors of Psychiatry Residency Training, and the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics. Dr. IsHak was awarded the 2002 and 2010 Golden Apple Teaching Award, Department of Psychiatry, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, 2007 Outstanding Medical Student Teaching Award, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Science at UCLA, 2011 Excellence in Education Award, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, 2012 Parker J.
