In 2018 he was decorated with the order of the Estonian Red Cross for 20 years of support of pediatric neurosurgery in Estonia. His surgical fields include microscopic reconstructive cranial surgery, microneurosurgery and endoscopic surgery. He has lectured at the Universities of Berlin, Ulm, Tartu and Bonn. He served as member of the Faculty of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) and host of the ESPN’s annual course in Berlin. He is member of the advisory board of the ISPN library of the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
