This book stems from the need of a resource that contains abbreviated information on the most important studies and trials that have shaped modern endocrine practice. Currently there are no one-stop repositories that are focused on Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism studies and trials. This book aims to provide such a resource, similar to an encyclopedia. The chapters will be written by experts in the field of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, and they will be tasked with picking the most impactful and important clinical studies and trials in their areas of expertise. Each chapter will contain entries of studies and trials (no more than 50 studies per chapter). These will follow a templated two-page descriptive summary, including study/trial title, ClinicalTrials.gov identifier, primary sponsor/funding source, study population location, pictorial study scheme, study type and phase, study summary/duration/completion date, study results, significance, historical context, lingering questions and possible future research direction, and top study associated references. Some key areas of focus include Diabetes type 1 & 2, cardiovascular endocrinology, hypertension, clinical nutrition, and much more.
The goal of this book is to be as encompassing and comprehensive as possible in its efforts to capture the post important set of studies in each therapeutic and clinical care domain. It aims to be a valuable resource for pure clinicians and clinical researchers in the field, which can then be periodically updated as needed.
