This book presents selected peer-reviewed proceedings from the 2nd Annual International Conference on Advanced Materials, Sustainable Energy, and Engineering (ICAMSEE2025), held at Ecole Normale Supérieure, University Moulay Ismail Meknes, Morocco, from May 22 to 24, 2025. The conference serves as an exceptional platform for international and national scientists, professors, students, and industry professionals to convene and exchange knowledge in the fields of materials science, microscopy, engineering, technology, and energy. This book features contributions from researchers and experts, including keynote speakers, special sessions, posters, and tutorials, showcasing the latest advancements and developments in these areas of research.
The topics covered in this book span a wide array of subjects within the realm of advanced materials, sustainable energy, and engineering. The forefront of materials science is explored, including nanomaterials, carbon nanotubes, graphene, materials for various applications, environmental protection, advanced optical materials, thermoelectric and magnetic materials, and additive manufacturing. Addressing the energy demands of today, the focus extends to novel materials for solar cells, energy storage, electronic devices, solar and wind energy, advanced thermal management materials, and materials for advanced water treatment and desalination. Sustainable energy and engineering topics encompass energy policy, clean energy production technologies, carbon capture and utilization, biomass energy, building energy efficiency, smart systems for climate change, and energy efficiency in mineral processing. Additionally, this book covers modeling and numerical simulations in material science, encompassing model development, computational techniques, and simulations in both material science and energy fields.
Dr. Mourad BOUTAHIR, he is an associate professor at Moulay Ismail University in Morocco. His research interests include development of molecular dynamics and ab initio computational methods. He received his Ph.D. in 2017 in advanced materials and applications laboratory (LEM2A), faculty of Sciences, Morocco. After, he was doing a postdoctoral supervised by Dr José Mejia Lopez at the center of nanotechnology and advanced materials investigation (CIEN-UC), Chile, the project was about Materials Design for highly efficient and reliable Hydrogen and Energy Storage devices. Now, he is coordinator of Master degree in materials sciences and head of research team “Advanced Materials for Energy Transition (MATE)”. His career goal is to be a leading scientist in either an academic research laboratory, a comparable industry based or a non-profit research institution in the field of solar cells. He developed a strong computational method including different methods, has a strong knowledge in solar (PV) designer in order to be part of the future solar cells. This is an exciting time for the solar industry and so as to make a difference they change the lives of their customers and the environment. He has published more than 36 research articles in SCI(E) journals and has +250 citations.
