Complex Systems and Their Applications

Sixth International Conference (EDIESCA 2025)

Ulises Uriostegui-Legorreta | Eric Campos-Canton | Esteban Tlelo-Cuautle | Guillermo Huerta-Cuellar

Science / System Theory

This book collects research presented at the Sixth Meeting for Dissemination and Research in the Study of Complex Systems and their Applications (EDIESCA 2025). EDIESCA arises from the need to foster academic and research groups that can carry out scientific research, and technological developments at the national and international level and their dissemination. The meeting promotes participation among graduate students, industry specialists and researchers to establish collaborations on the study of complex systems and their applications that may have a strong impact on the development of new projects.

Ulises Uriostegui-Legorreta is a president of the Mexican Association of Sciences, Humanities, Engineering and Innovation. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV), Campus Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2020. He has conducted postdoctoral research stays at the Department of Engineering Physical at UMSNH (2021-2025). In 2024, he was appointed as a professor and researcher at UPLC. His research interests include modeling, robotics, artificial intelligence, complex networks, nonlinear dynamics, control theory, and chaos of dynamic systems.

Eric Campos-Cantón has been Professor and Researcher at IPICYT since 2010. He received B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) México, in 1997, 1999, and 2003, respectively. During 2002–2010, he was with the mathematical physicist department at UASLP. He has been a visiting researcher in the department of Mathematics at University of Houston, USA (2016–2017). His research interests include dynamical systems with chaotic behavior, in which he has the following lines of research: Analysis and modeling of dynamical systems in continuous and discrete time with chaotic behavior; Application of dynamical systems in cryptology; Experimental implementations of mathematical models with nonlinear and chaotic dynamics.

Esteban Tlelo-Cuautle has been a professor and researcher at INAOE since 2001. He received a B.Sc. degree from Instituto Tecnológico de Puebla (ITP) México in 1993 and both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE), México in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He has authored 6 books, edited 16 books and around 300 works published in book chapters, international journals and conferences. He serves as associate editor in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Discover Computing, Integration the VLSI Journal, and International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications. He has been Technical Program Committee member of major conferences on circuits and systems.

Guillermo Huerta-Cuellar has been working at the Exact Sciences and Technology Department in the Centro Universitario de los Lagos, Universidad de Guadalajara since 2010. He received a master’s degree from Instituto de Investigación en Comunicaciones Ópticas  (IICO), Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, in 2004, and a Ph.D. degree from Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica (CIO), León, Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2009. He has been a visiting researcher in the department of Applied Mathematics at Instituto Potosino de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica, San Luis Potosí, México (2012–2014, 2019–2020), in the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia (2016), and on a sabbatical stay at St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX, US (2018–2019). He is the editor of 7 books, co-author of 8 book chapters, international journals and conferences, and more than 80 high-impact publications. He is a member of the National System for Researchers (SNI-SECIHTI-México).
