Dr. Suraj Kumar Singh is an esteemed researcher and academician currently serving as an Associate Professor and Head at the Centre for Climate Change and Water Research, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur. A specialist in the integration of geospatial technologies with environmental management, Dr. Singh earned his Ph.D. in 2012 from the Department of Remote Sensing at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi. His professional foundation is rooted in high-level research, having served as a Research Associate at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), followed by an Assistant Professorship at the Centre for Land Resource Management, Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi, India. Dr. Singh’s research expertise is broad and impact-oriented, focusing on waterlogging and flood hazards, geospatial applications in water resources, hydro-geomorphology, and disaster management. His technical proficiency also extends to urban planning and wasteland mapping. His standing in the global scientific community is highlighted by his inclusion in the 2025 Stanford University list of the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists, reflecting the significant academic weight of his 209 journal articles, 23 books, and 56 book chapters.
