The book presents essential concepts forming a ground to quantum information and quantum computation, or quantum information processing at large. At the same time, the book applies and develops standard concepts from classical signal processing -- or signals and systems theory -- at the quantum level, to serve for a coherent exposition of quantum information processing, and to substantiate the more specific field of quantum signal processing. Accordingly, the book may strongly appeal to readers with a background in classical signal processing or signals and systems theory, since the book offers an opportunity, with no equivalent in its type, to transfer and extend their knowledge into the quantum realm.

François Chapeau-Blondeau received the master-level Engineer Diploma in electronics from the Engineering School ESEO in Angers, France, in 1982, and the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University Pierre & Marie Curie in Paris, France, in 1987, followed by a year of postdoctoral research in the USA. He has then developed an academic career, with teaching and research in these scientific directions. He is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Angers, France, from the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Sciences and from the LARIS research laboratory. Throughout his career, he has carried out teaching and research activities at the interface between physics and information sciences & technologies, specially signal processing, classical and quantum as well. In these areas, he has authored or coauthored more than 160 research articles in international Journals, and several contributed book chapters. From 2015, he has lectured for several years on quantum information and quantum computation in the doctoral school at the University of Angers. From June 2024 to February 2025, he lectured on quantum signal processing (25 hours) in the research group |QuantInG> (Quantum Information Group) at GdR CNRS IASIS, in Paris, France.

Publication Date:

18 August 2026

Publisher:

Springer Nature Switzerland

Imprint:

Springer

ISBN-13:

9783032274984

Format:

Hardback

Page Count:

506
