Prof. Dr. T. Hikmet Karakoç, Ph.D., graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Anadolu University. He earned his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University and completed his Ph.D. at Anadolu University, where he began his full-time teaching career. He was appointed full professor at Anadolu University and is currently conducting research at Piri Reis University. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at the National Aviation Academy. Prof. Karakoç has diverse research interests that include sustainable aviation, aircraft propulsion systems, insulation, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), indoor air quality, gas turbines, cogeneration systems, renewable energy, energy economics, fuels, and combustion. He has contributed to more than 30 industrial projects as a researcher, consultant, and project manager. He also initiated a contest focused on special insulation applications for university students. He has served in various editorial roles, including Editor-in-Chief, guest editor, and editorial board member for international scientific journals. Over his career, he has published more than 300 papers in national and international journals and authored 40 books. Prof. Karakoç is also an active member of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers and several sectoral associations, international scientific organizations, and societies. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Green Energy and serves as President of SARES, an organization dedicated to supporting scientists and students in sustainable aviation. Additionally, he is an organizer and Founding Chair of four symposia on aviation-related topics and the lead editor of the Springer book series Sustainable Aviation.
Khagani Abdullayev, Ph.D., is the Vice-Rector for General and Economic Affairs at the National Aviation Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan. He holds a Bachelor's and MSc from the Television and Radio Systems Department at Azerbaijan Technical University. In 2005, he earned his Ph.D. in Technical Science, focusing on Acousto-Optical Temporal-Scale Signal Converters. His research interests include radio electronics, optics, remote sensing, and microelectronics.
Fuad Mirzayev, Ph.D., is the Head of the Scientific Information and Patent Department at the National Aviation Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan. He completed his Bachelor's and MSc in Management at the same institution and earned his Ph.D. in 2018, focusing on Investment Activity in Azerbaijan's Transportation System. His research interests encompass business management, project management, finance, and transport economics.
Elgun Aghayev, Ph.D., has been working at the National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan since 2011, where he is the Vice-Rector for General and Economic Affairs. He graduated from the Aviation Transport Organization specialty of the National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan. He earned his Ph.D. in the specialty of Operation of Surface Complexes, Output Equipment, Flying Machines, and Their Systems in 2022, defending his dissertation on the topic of a Radio-Electronic System for Measuring the Loading Degree of Aircraft.
