Walter Leal Filho is a senior professor and head of the Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management” at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, and chair of Environment and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He is the initiator of the Word Sustainable Development Symposia (WSSD-U) series and chairs the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Program. Professor Leal Filho has written, co-written, edited, or co-edited more than 800 publications, including books, book chapters, and papers in refereed journals.
Laís Viera Trevisan is a research associate at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany). She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2025, including a three-year DAAD-funded doctoral research fellowship in Germany. Her research explores the intersections of sustainability, climate action, digital transformation, and higher education, with particular emphasis on smart campuses and the role of universities in driving sustainable development. She has contributed to international research projects and publications addressing sustainability transitions and innovation for societal impact.
Dr. Amanda Lange Salvia is a project manager and researcher at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where she serves as the director of the FTZ-NK Sustainable Development Networks. She is also a deputy editor of the Encyclopedia of the Sustainable Development Goals and the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education. With a background in Environmental Engineering, her work focuses on the role of universities in advancing sustainability, the impacts of climate change, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
