Technology & Engineering / Electronics / General

This book presents a collection of high-quality research articles in the field of power engineering, grid integration, energy management, soft computing, artificial intelligence, signal and image processing, data science techniques, and their real-world applications. This book is presented at International Conference on Power Engineering and Intelligent Systems (PEIS 2026), held during March 14–15, 2026, at National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Uttarakhand, India. This book is presented in four volumes.

Professor Vivek Shrivastava is a distinguished academic and engineer with over 20 years of extensive experience in teaching, research, industry, and academic administration across India, China, and the United States. He presently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Uttarakhand. Previously, he served for nearly seven years at NIT Delhi in several pivotal leadership roles, including Registrar, Dean (Research & Consultancy), Dean (Student Welfare), Dean (Faculty Welfare), and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. In these capacities, he significantly contributed to institutional development and the strengthening of industry–academia collaborations.

Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal is a professor at South Asian University New Delhi and a visiting professor at Maths and Computer Science, Liverpool Hope University, UK. He also holds a visiting professorship at NIT Goa, India. Dr. Bansal obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from IIT Roorkee. His primary areas of interest are swarm intelligence and nature-inspired optimization techniques. Recently, he proposed a fission-fusion social structure-based optimization algorithm, Spider Monkey Optimization (SMO), which is being applied to various problems in the engineering domain. He has published over 70 research papers in various international journals/conferences. He is the section editor (editor-in-chief) of the journal MethodsX published by Elsevier. He is the series editor of the four Springer book series AIS, SADIC, ISTC, and SST published by Springer. He is also the associate editor of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (EAAI) and ARRAY published by Elsevier.
Prof. Bijaya Ketan Panigrahi is a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi, India. Prior to joining IIT Delhi in 2005, he has served as a faculty in Electrical Engineering Department, UCE Burla, Odisha, India, from 1992 to 2005. He is a fellow of INAE, India. His research interest includes application of soft computing and evolutionary computing techniques to power system planning, operation, and control. He has been also working in the field of bio-medical signal processing and image processing. He has served as the editorial board member, associate editor, and special issue guest editor of different international journals. He is also associated with various international conferences in various capacities. He has published more than 100 research papers in various international and national journals.
