Before joining TAMU, he was an assistant professor and then tenured Dean’s Excellence associate professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Iowa from 2014 to 2022. Before that, he worked in Silicon Valley as Machine Learning Researcher for two years at GE Research and NEC Labs. He received the Best Student Paper Award of COLT in 2012, and the NSF Career Award in 2019.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e    \u003c\/span\u003eHe is recognized for his contributions to optimization in ML\/AI. He is the founder of the widely used LibAUC library.
