K.K. Nagaraja received the Ph.D. degree from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India. K.K. Nagaraja is currently working as an associate professor at the Department of Physics, MIT Manipal. He is a recipient of a start-up grant DST to work on AlN piezoelectric materials for sensor applications. He also granted a SPRAC grant from UGC for collaborative work with scientists from NITTE University, Miyazaki University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. His interests include epitaxial growth of III-nitride materials, quantum well structures, ferrite nanomaterials, and renewable energy. He was a recipient of the National Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, India, in 2016; and the Young Scientist Grant in 2014 and visiting researcher grant in 2019 from the Ministry of Science and Education, Russia. He is the convener of the 13th National Conference on Condensed Matter Physics and Applications (CMPA)-2025.
Dr. Sudha D. Kamath is currently working as a professor and dean, School of Basic Sciences, Humanities and Management, Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE, Manipal. She completed her Master’s degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad, and obtained her Ph.D. from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, in 2009. The current research interests include high-power photonic rare-earth-doped glasses, ceramics, and phosphors for solid-state lighting applications, LED applications, thermo-luminescence characteristics of rare-earth-doped phosphors for Dosimetry, radiation shielding and temperature sensing applications. She has published over 150 publications in the SCOPUS-indexed journals of international repute, applied for 4 patents. So far, 08 Ph.D. students have successfully been awarded Ph.D. degrees under her guidance, and 06 are currently working under her supervision. She has set up a “Glass Processing Lab” in the School of Basic Sciences, Humanities and Management School, MIT, Manipal, with the help of extramural-funded projects.
