This book covers recent trends in the field of devices, wireless communication and networking. Dr. Bikash Sharma (SMIEEE (USA), FIE (I), FIETE, MIAAM (Sweden), MInstP (UK), MSEE (South Asia), LMMRSI, LMIPS, LMSSI, LMISTE) is currently serving in the capacity of Associate Professor since 2009 in the Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engg (ECE)., Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Sikkim, India. He is Fellow Institute of Engineers (IE(I)) and Fellow IETE. His current area of research is in Advanced Nanomaterials, Nanoelectronics, Low Dimensional Materials, Spintronics and its application in Non-Volatile Memories and Nanoelectronics devices and Sensors. He has published more than 60 peer reviewed papers in international journals, international and national Conferences. He has been engaged with projects worth INR 1.5 cores (Approx). He is awarded with “Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Teacher’s Excellence Award 2021” by AICTE, Govt. of India and Sikhshak Kalyan Foundation.
Dr. Subhas Mukhopadhyay (M’97, SM’02, F’11) holds a B.E.E. (gold medalist), M.E.E., Ph.D. (India) and Doctor of Engineering (Japan). He has over 33 years of teaching, industrial and research experience. Currently he is working as a Professor of Mechanical/Electronics Engineering, Macquarie University, Australia and is the Discipline Leader of the Mechatronics Engineering Degree Programme. He is also the Director of International Engagement for the School of Engineering of Macquarie University. His fields of interest include Smart Sensors and sensing technology, wireless sensors and network (WSN), Internet of Things (IoT), wearable sensors, medical devices, healthcare, environmental monitoring, Mechatronics and Robotics. He has supervised 55 postgraduate students and over 150 Honours students. He has examined 80 postgraduate theses.
Dr. Agbotiname Lucky Imoize (Senior Member, IEEE) Received the B.Eng. degree (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria, in 2008 and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2012. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Before joining the University of Lagos, he was a Lecturer at Bells University of Technology, Nigeria. He is a research scholar at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, under the sponsorship of the Nigerian Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through the Nigerian German Postgraduate Program. He was awarded the Fulbright fellowship as a visiting research scholar at the Wireless@VT Laboratory, Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, USA, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. R. Michael Buehrer from 2017 to 2018.
Dr. Arun Kumar Singh is an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Sikkim Manipal University, India. He has been a faculty member at SMIT since July 2012 and was promoted to Selection Grade in April 2024. Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Antenna Design from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, an M.Tech in Digital Electronics and Advanced Communication, and a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, both from SMIT. His areas of expertise include wireless communication systems, remote sensing, radar signal processing, and antenna design. At SMIT, he serves not only in academic teaching and research roles but also in key academic and student support functions, including Institute Training & Placement Officer, Faculty Advisor for the Electronics & Communication Students Association, and Coordinator of Alumni Engagement and NEP Cell activities. Dr. Singh’s research contributions span numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, particularly in communication systems, intelligent reflecting surfaces, and radar technologies.
