This book is grounded in the belief that equity in gifted education requires more than access - it demands meaningful, culturally responsive, and student-centered learning experiences. It explores how project-based learning (PBL) can be used not only to engage gifted students, but to create a classroom where all learners feel seen, challenged, and empowered. Andy Bishop is a fourth and fifth grade Highly Capable teacher in the Mount Vernon School District in Washington State, USA. He has been an educator for well over a decade, beginning in general education before transitioning into a self-contained Highly Capable classroom, where he has spent the last nine years primarily teaching reading, writing, social studies, and art. He was the 2022 Washington State Highly Capable Educator of the Year.
