This book explains in clear, accessible terms what entrepreneurship education in higher education actually achieves and under which conditions it is effective. It shows how entrepreneurship education shapes students’ motivation and capability to act as entrepreneurs, and how these effects are reflected in both entrepreneurial intentions and entrepreneurial competencies.
Building on the Theory of Planned Behaviour and a competency‑based approach, the book links entrepreneurship education with attitudes, perceived behavioural control, subjective norms and seventeen entrepreneurial competencies in a single multidimensional research model that can be re-used. Drawing on a quasi‑experimental study in Slovenian universities, it clarifies the effects and boundary conditions of entrepreneurship education. The book challenges assumptions that entrepreneurship education automatically creates entrepreneurs and offers a rigorous, timely resource for educators, researchers and policymakers seeking an evidence‑informed approach to entrepreneurship education, innovation and entrepreneurial capability.
