Rather than promoting the replacement of industrial landscapes, it advocates a paradigm shift toward their regeneration, where ecological restoration, industrial heritage and renewal, collective memory, and place identity become complementary dimensions of more resilient, just, and sustainable territories.

Fabiana Fabri is an Associate Professor at Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle (Rouen, France), where she serves as Chairholder of the Industry & Territories Research Chair (UsinoVerT) and is a member of the InTerACT research unit. Her research focuses on territorial sustainability transitions, industrial–urban transformations, nature-based solutions, and spatial decision-support systems for climate adaptation and territorial planning. She received her Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Analysis from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil.

Loïc Sauvée is an academic at Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle in France (Beauvais and Rouen) specializing in management sciences, where he serves as head of the InTerACT research unit. He holds a PhD with HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches). His research focuses on hybrid and polycentric governance applied to sustainable territory transitions in cities and digital sustainability of European agri-food systems. He is also active internationally, having served as IFAMA Europe Chairman and as guest editor for special issues of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Review, while supervising numerous doctoral theses on related topics.
