Museum shops are much enjoyed by the public but under explored in academic literature. This book establishes ground for some of the debates around museum shop studies within the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) sector. In doing so it highlights how debates in museums on topics as diverse as commercialisation, consumption and economic need have affected the objects sold in museum shops. It offers two areas for departure: first it highlights the work being undertaken in museum shop studies, that has hitherto been fairly disparate, and second it offers a practical case study for translating this research into public content via an exhibition, event series and podcast. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cp\u003eKasia Tomasiewicz, PhD, is a Lecturer in Culture, Media \u0026amp; Creative Industries at King’s College London. She is a cultural historian with expertise in museum theory and practice, memory studies, and post-war and contemporary British history.
