This book resolves a persistent analytical gridlock in the study of populism by providing a rigorous conceptual reconstruction. It moves from this theoretical groundwork to a qualitative study of the Greek Radical Left (SYRIZA), drawing on its experience over the last two decades to challenge and recast the cartel-party model.

Seraphim Seferiades is Professor of Politics at the Panteion University of Social and Political Science, Athens; Director of the Laboratory on Contentious Politics; and Life Member in Politics and History at the University of Cambridge (CLH).
