This book offers detailed review of the state-of-the-art in green nanotechnology based on fruit and vegetable wastes, which could be used in biomedical, agricultural, and environmental industries. It presents the fundamental principles of green nanotechnology, the role of agro-industrial wastes as natural reducers and stabilizers, and the mechanisms of biogenic nanoparticle formation. The book deals with a variety of waste products, such as citrus peel, tomato pomace, onion skin, banana peel, mango seed, papaya waste, potato peel, and leafy vegetables waste emphasizing their phytochemical profile and their suitability to produce nanoparticles. This book has discussions regarding the characterization, stability, morphology, surface properties, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and catalytic behavior of the nanoparticles. In addition, the book discusses the novel applications of waste-based nanoparticles in drug delivery systems, antimicrobial and anticancer applications, nanofertilizers, pesticides delivery systems, soil remediation, water treatment, and removal of heavy metals. Issues related to toxicity, environmental concerns, industrial issues, and future research avenues are also discussed. The integration of circular economy, waste utilization, and sustainable nanotechnology makes this book an important reference for researchers, graduate students, academics, and practitioners interested in nanotechnology, food science, biotechnology, agriculture, environmental sciences, and other related areas.

Dr. Kanika Dulta is a postdoctoral Fellow at the Center of Advanced Innovation Technologies, VŠB -Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.
