This comprehensive collection displays the excellence and nuances of First Nations methodologies, offering valuable insights and practical examples to advance research and understanding within this context.

Decolonising Research Methods: Our Way gives a voice and adds to the ongoing philosophical debate within and between academic disciplines over the production of knowledge and approaches used for research purposes, specifically for First Nations people. Questions explored by contributors include: “How should knowledge be obtained?”, “Which methods will best answer research questions?”, “Whose knowledge should be privileged in the research process?” and “How is research excellence currently being completed?". Currently, First Nations people and researchers experience a myriad of considerations in their work, which is even more demanding when dominant Western approaches to understanding and interpreting the social world are applied to Indigenous knowledge and communities. Relationality and reciprocity are key – this title aims to offer a new framework for an outdated system of academia.

James C.
