Clinical Diagnosis and Management

Mehrdad Mohammadpour | Zahra Heidari

Medical / Ophthalmology

This book provides clinicians with the tools to effectively detect, classify and treat astigmatism to ensure more personalised and accurate care for patients. Complex cases such as keratoconus and post-surgical irregularities are highlighted to enhance understanding of difficult presentations and equip professionals with the knowledge and strategies necessary to meet the challenges of modern optometry and ophthalmology. The book also incorporates the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI) for the diagnosis and treatment of astigmatism. AI technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, large language models, predictive analysis and image recognition are examined in the book for diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning, particularly in complex cases such as keratoconus. This integration of AI bridges the gap between traditional practice and cutting-edge technology, enabling clinicians and researchers to improve patient outcomes and advance the field.

Astigmatism: Clinical Diagnosis and Management is an essential resource for ophthalmologists, optometrists and vision scientists  seeking to improve the standard of care for people with astigmatism and contribute to better visual outcomes and quality of life for patients.
