She received her bachelor’s degree in computer science in 1995 and her Master of Computer Applications in 1998 from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Vijayalakshmi completed her Master of Philosophy in 2006 and her Ph.D. from Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, in 2014. With nearly 25 years of academic experience, her research focuses on image processing and the Internet of Things. She has published more than 100 research articles, over 50 book chapters, and several books, and holds more than 30 published patents. Her work has received Best Paper Awards in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and a Best Presenter Award at Curtin University in 2025.
