Survival Skills for Thesis and Dissertation Candidates in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Robert S. Fleming
This book prepares students for success during the most challenging and often frustrating phase of their graduate studies, completion of a thesis, or dissertation. It provides instrumental insights regarding the appropriate role of artificial intelligence in properly and proficiently completing a thesis or dissertation effectively, efficiently, and ethically. The initial five chapters consider theses, dissertations, and artificial intelligence; critical thinking as a scholarly activity; artificial intelligence in scholarship; guiding principles in artificial intelligence use; and developing AI knowledge, skills, and confidence. The remaining chapters address activities, tasks, and challenges of successfully completing each stage of the thesis or dissertation process, while enjoying this monumental journey.
Like its predecessor, Survival Skills for Thesis and Dissertation Candidates (Fleming and Kowalsky), this book approaches conceptualizing, researching, writing, and presenting a thesis or dissertation project as a monumental journey and adventure. It provides useful travel guidance during each stage of the thesis or dissertation journey designed to enable thesis or dissertation travelers to realize a successful and meaningful journey while ideally making a useful contribution to the existing body of knowledge. The guidance and insights shared in each chapter are designed to enable students to avoid one or more bumps in the road that have challenged the success of past travelers.
