Medical / Sports Medicine

Shoulder and Elbow Injuries in Sports provides a comprehensive, clinically focused guide to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of shoulder and elbow injuries in athletes. It connects the science of injury with the decisions that shape recovery, helping clinicians navigate the demands of recreational, competitive and professional sport.

Combining perspectives from sports medicine, orthopaedic surgery and physiotherapy, the book brings diagnostic assessment, surgical and nonsurgical management, rehabilitation and injury prevention into one reference. Throughout, the emphasis is on translating evidence into practical care: selecting appropriate treatment, restoring function and planning a return to sport that reflects the individual athlete’s needs.

Orthopaedic surgeons and sports physicians will find detailed discussions of diagnostic methods and contemporary treatment approaches. Physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals will gain insights into recovery strategies, exercise programmes and the restoration of sport-specific function. Team physicians will benefit from an integrated perspective on coordinating care within the realities of training and competition.

Edited and written by an international panel of experts, this volume connects clinical research with the everyday challenges of caring for injured athletes. It is an essential reference for professionals seeking a deeper understanding of shoulder and elbow injuries and a coherent approach to care, from initial assessment through rehabilitation and return to sport.
