Gavin Towler grew up in the hills of Northern England and spent most of his career working on alternative energy. An expert on systems engineering and project economics, he helped invent and commercialize several clean energy technologies. As Chief Sustainability Officer of Honeywell and a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering he took part in a range of forums on climate change, the energy transition and sustainable development. Since retiring from Honeywell he has served as Professor of Engineering Practice at Northwestern University and as adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore and Universiti Malaya.
