US-Japan Alliance
Strengthening Defense and Security in the Indo-Pacific
Indu Saxena | Yoichiro Sato
The proposed book focuses on data-driven analysis of the evolution of the US-Japan Alliance, addressing the critical question of how the U.S.-Japan Alliance can effectively adapt and evolve its structure and capabilities to meet the rapidly intensifying, multi-domain security challenges of the contemporary Indo-Pacific. The proposed project aims to comprehensively analyze the multifaceted aspects of strengthening defense and security cooperation between the United States and Japan. The topics include alliance politics, US-Japan relations, Japan's foreign policy, defense policy, and great power competition in the Indo-Pacific. These topics are highly relevant due to the unprecedented convergence of escalating regional threats and shifts of the great power competition in Asia, and they attract a wider audience. This book serves as a guide for students, scholars, defense officials, and policymakers.
