Exploring the World of Nanoparticles

Science, Innovation, and Applications

Susanta Das | Rizwan Shaikh

Technology & Engineering / Materials Science / General

This book offers a comprehensive examination of nanoparticles: their properties, synthesis methods, and the principles that define their behavior at the nanoscale. It explains how variations in size, shape, and surface characteristics influence physical, chemical, and biological performance, establishing the scientific foundation for understanding nanoscale phenomena. This book traces the historical development of nanoscience, outlining the experimental and theoretical advances that have enabled its integration across multiple disciplines, from materials science to biotechnology.

It further explores the applications of nanoparticles in areas such as energy, catalysis, electronics, environmental systems, and medicine, emphasizing both technological potential and practical challenges. Attention is given to issues of safety, toxicity, and regulation, along with the ethical and societal implications of nanotechnology’s rapid expansion. By connecting fundamental concepts with applied innovation, this book provides a critical framework for understanding how nanoscale materials are shaping the scientific and technological landscape of the future.
