They\nachieve this result by partially computing one of                      Donalson's\npolynomial invariants. The computation is carried out            using\ntechniques from algebraic geometry. In these computations\nboth thebasic facts about the Donaldson invariants and the\nrelationship of the      moduli space of ASD connections with the\nmoduli space of stable bundles are assumed known. Some\nfamiliarity with the basic facts of the theory of moduliof\nsheaves and bundles on a surface is also assumed.
