This is equivalent to saying\nthat the   possible combinations of singular fibers in\nelliptic K3 surfaces with a     singular fiber of type I * 0\n(superscript *, subscript 0) can be described  by a certain\nlaw using classical Dynkin graphs appearing in the             theory\nof semi-simple Lie groups. Further, a similar description\nfor thecombination of singularities on plane sextic curves\nis given. Standard      knowledge of algebraic geometry at the\nlevel of graduate students is        expected.
