This book provides a comprehensive visual reference for the diagnosis of tumors using ultrasound imaging, with a focus on enhancing readers’ diagnostic accuracy and clinical interpretation skills. It presents a wide range of high-quality tumor cases from various anatomical regions, including the breast and thyroid. Each case includes four ultrasound image types—original, AI-enhanced, segmented, and color-modified—offering a multi-dimensional view that supports clear differentiation between benign and malignant features.
The book guides readers in interpreting tumor morphology by pairing imaging with detailed pathological findings through carefully selected examples, particularly of breast tumors. This perspective deepens understanding of the correlation between ultrasound characteristics and diagnostic outcomes. Designed for clinicians, radiologists, sonographers, and medical trainees, the book also introduces AI-assisted imaging as a practical tool for tumor evaluation. By integrating advanced visualization techniques with expert analysis, this resource supports clinical decision-making and contributes to the development of precision imaging in tumor diagnostics.
Cheng Li, Chief Physician, graduated from China Medical University and is currently employed in the Ultrasound Department at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. He specializes in the ultrasound diagnosis of breast, thyroid, and liver diseases. He has published more than 30 papers in core journals. He was one of the first in China to develop ultrasound-guided puncture techniques. The ultrasound artificial intelligence diagnostic equipment he developed is at the leading level in the country.
Zhan Hua, PhD, is the Chief Physician of General Surgery at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College and worked and studied at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA, from 2007 to 2009.He is currently an Associate Professor at Peking University Health Science Center, a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and a member of the National Telemedicine and Internet Gastroenterology Committee. He has led and participated in multiple research projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s international cooperation programs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, as well as the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. He has published over twenty articles in scientific journals, including the internationally renowned journal Surgery, and contributed to the writing of three medical monographs. Clinically, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of general surgical tumors and combines artificial intelligence for early tumor diagnosis and treatment. He has established specialized multidisciplinary tumor treatment teams to manage complex cases. Notably, he was among the first in China to carry out surgical treatment for secondary hyperparathyroidism due to renal disease, and his work in this field is considered leading in the country.
Dr. Yang Lyu, PhD, is a Bioinformatics Scientist and Staff Scientist at Washington University in St. Louis, with over two decades of combined wet-lab and computational research experience. He received his PhD in Internal Medicine (Nephrology) from PLA Medical School in 2010, with formal training spanning medical biotechnology, nephrology, oncology, and bioinformatics. Dr. Lyu has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals and has contributed as first or co-first author to multiple landmark studies in cancer genomics, proteomics, and translational medicine. In addition to his research achievements, His work centers on translating large-scale biological data into mechanistic insights and building AI-based workflow for early cancer detection and personalized treatment.
Dan Wang, Attending Physician, graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a Master's degree. Since 2016, she has been involved in the development of ultrasound artificial intelligence and has long been dedicated to research in this field, possessing extensive experience in data mining and organization. She has published five papers in core academic journals.
Fang Zhang, Chief Physician at the Center for Oral Medicine, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, and specialist in Endodontics. She is skilled in imaging processing and visual presentation, with expertise in CBCT-guided precise diagnosis and treatment of complex endodontic and dental issues under a microscope. She advocates for prioritizing prevention in oral diseases. By innovatively combining medicine with painting, color, and imagination, she conveys oral health knowledge through engaging educational picture book stories. She is the author of a widely read popular science work on oral medicine designed to benefit children for a lifetime.
