This book presents a comprehensive review of the latest research in quantum dot fabrication, properties and applications. Beginning with an introduction to the fundamentals of quantum dots, the subsequent sections provide a detailed overview of some imminent new directions in biomedical, environmental, and energy applications. Various topics covered in this book are introduction to quantum dots, their fabrication and characterization techniques for successful luminescence; biological applications of quantum dots, including bioimaging, bioassay, biodiagnostics, drug research, and agriculture; quantum dot-based detection of environmental pollutants, their fate and their accumulation in the environment and recent achievements of quantum dots in energy storage, photovoltaic (PV) technology, and building energy devices. This book also discusses the challenges of emerging quantum dot technology and the associated regulatory policies. This book helps researchers and professionals working in the area of quantum dots research.
