He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, India. He has published several papers in reputed journals, conferences, and book chapters. His research interests include smart grids, applications of artificial intelligence in power systems, transmission line design and planning, and power quality. He is currently supervising four Ph.D. scholars and two Master's students. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003eS. N. Singh\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003e obtained his M.Tech and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1989 and 1995, respectively. He is currently the Director of Atal Bihari Vajpayee–Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (M.P.), India, and is on leave from his position as Professor (HAG) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. His research interests include power system restructuring, FACTS, power system optimization and control, security analysis, and wind power. Prof. Singh has published over 500 papers in international and national journals and conferences, and has supervised 40 Ph.D. scholars (with 8 currently in progress). He has authored 30 book chapters, edited 8 books, and written 2 textbooks: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003eElectric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003e and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003eBasic Electrical Engineering.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003e He has successfully completed over three dozen technical projects in India and abroad.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003eDavid Wenzhong Gao\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003e received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in electric power engineering, from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He is a Full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Renewable Energy and Power Electronics Laboratory at the University of Denver, Denver, CO, USA. He teaches courses such as Renewable and Efficient Power and Energy Systems, Power Generation, Operation and Control, and Power System Protection. His extensive research spans renewable energy systems, microgrids, distributed generation, smart grids, power delivery, power electronics applications, power system protection, restructuring, and hybrid electric vehicles. He has published over 150 refereed technical papers in international journals and conferences and co-authored the book \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003eModern Hybrid Electric Vehicles\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(26, 25, 25);\"\u003e. His research has been funded by numerous agencies including the US National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Argonne and Oak Ridge National Laboratories, US Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Electric Power Research Institute. In 2009, he received the prestigious NSF CAREER Award for his work in wind power. He also received the Best Paper Award in the Complex Systems Track at the 2002 Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS).
