This book covers a great deal of research achievements in industrial restructuring strategy, industrial organization, industrial policy, departmental economic research, industrial competitiveness, regional industrial structure, national industrial economic security theory and empirical research, and it emphasizes on combining theory with practice. It aims to discuss the problems in industrial economics and industrial security theories and practices. It is the documentation of the conference “15th International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Sciences”, held in Budapest and Beijing during August 1–5, 2025.
Anqiang Huang holds a doctoral degree from Beihang University. He is currently a Professor in the School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiaotong University, where he is affiliated with the ICIR Center. He has conducted visiting research at the University of Maryland (USA), the University of Toronto (Canada), and Liverpool John Moores University (UK). He serves as a peer reviewer for leading international journals including the European Journal of Operational Research, the International Journal of Production Economics, Transportation Research Part D, and Expert Systems with Applications, as well as Chinese journals including Systems Engineering — Theory & Practice and Management Review. His research interests encompass forecasting theory, intelligent algorithms, smart logistics systems, and empirical analysis of logistics operations.
Gábor Bohács received a diploma as a mechanical engineer from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1996. He joined the former organization of the current Department of Material Handling and Logistics Systems in 1997. Between 2012 July and 2016 December he has been Acting Chair of the Department, and between 2013 and 2014, he was also Vice Dean for international and scientific affairs of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering. Currently, he is Deputy Head of Department at the same organization. He defended his PhD Thesis in 2005 and successfully passed his habilitation in 2018. He is also a member of the Logistics Committee of the Hungarian Scientific Academy. His expert area is Industry 4.0, including simulation applications and automatic guided intralogistic vehicles. He currently participates in several research and development projects in this area.
Adam Torok holds an MSc in Transport Engineering from BME (2004) and an MSc in Financing Engineering from BME (2007). He received PhD in Transport Sciences from BME Faculty of Transport Engineering in 2008. Since 2004, he has been an active member of the Transport Science Association, and since 2012, a member of the Hungarian Logistics Association. Since 2016, he also holds PhD in Business and Management from the BME Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences. His research activity was awarded the János Bólyai Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2011-2014; 2016-2019 and the Program for New National Excellence in 2017. In 2021, he successfully defended his academic doctoral thesis; in 2022, he was appointed full-time university professor—number of publications: 350. He is Editor-in-Chief of Periodica Polytechnica Transport Engineering and European Transport Studies. He is an editorial board member of numerous transport-related journals. He is a co-organiser of the Cognitive Mobility Conference.
Yixuan Ma is an Associate Professor at the School of Software Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University, China, where she is affiliated with the ICIR Center. She received her doctoral degree from Beijing Jiaotong University with joint training at the University of California, Irvine. Her research interests span online labor markets, generative AI applications in service sciences, and intelligent logistics informatics. She is the Principal Investigator of a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grant on generative model-driven supply-demand matching in online labor markets. She has published research in informatics, recommendation systems, and
service management, and supervises a research group of graduate students working at the intersection of AI and service operations. She serves as a peer reviewer for international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, ACM SIGIR, Operations Management Research, and the Journal of Big Data.
Guowei Hua is a full Professor at the School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiaotong University, where he currently serves as Executive Dean of the National Academy of Economic Security. He served as Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management from 2016 to 2022, and was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Logistics, Informatics and Service Sciences (LIISS). He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher for six consecutive years (2020–2025). His research focuses on logistics, supply chain management, and operations management. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Production and Operations Management, Transportation Research Part B, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Omega, and Resources, Conservation and Recycling, among others.
