This book addresses the advanced computational techniques used to study microbial ecosystems in diverse environments. It also enables the readers to understand microbial communities and their interaction for sustainable environmental management. This book showcases the widespread use of computational biology, bioinformatics and advanced molecular tools (such as metagenomics, proteomics and genomics) in different fields of microbial assessment. It also discusses use of these techniques in bioremediation of pesticides, dye, heavy metals, hydrocarbon, e- waste, microbial enzymes, as well as in wastewater quality assessment and biological soil health assessment. Exploring computational approaches in biotechnology - such as microbial enzyme discovery, metabolic engineering, and bioprocess optimization - for sustainable bioenergy production, waste treatment and the future challenges of biodegradation and bioremediation of environment pollutants is also a key focus of the book.

Students, researchers and scientists working in the field of environmental microbiology, agricultural microbiology and bioremediation can use this book as a valuable reference. Policy makers and industrialists of these fields may also find the book insightful.
