This book presents selected papers from the 9th International Symposium on Biomedical Engineering (ISBE 2024), during 28–29 October, held in Depok, Indonesia. This book offers a thorough exploration of trends and research across four key areas: biomaterials and tissue engineering; medical devices; clinical health and management; and drug development and delivery. This book serves as a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers aiming to enhance the healthcare landscape and drive future developments in biomedical engineering.

Mohammad Ikhsan received his bachelor’s and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia. He then received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. He is currently Lecturer with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. His research interests include computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence, and embedded systems.
Sylvi Febriana Rachmawati Irnadiastputri received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from National University of Singapore. She is currently Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering Program, Universitas Indonesia. Her research interests include tissue biomechanics, computational mechanics, and finite element analysis. She has experience in modeling the eye and the spine.
Safira Candra Asih is Lecturer in bioprocess engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering Universitas Indonesia. Her main research topic is about recombinant protein production, biomaterials, and lateral flow assay-based biosensor.
Abdul Halim Abdullah is currently working as Senior Lecturer at School of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, University Technology MARA, Malaysia. He also holds the position of Head, Department of Strategic Partnership at UiTM Global, UiTM.
