It focuses on recent research, technological advancements, AI-driven healthcare solutions, business model innovations, and new healthcare service delivery systems in resource-limited settings across the Global South. The book is intended for academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and development practitioners seeking to understand and apply innovative solutions to pressing healthcare challenges. The main topics explore how emerging technologies, innovation, and entrepreneurship can address critical gaps in access, affordability, and quality of care in low- and middle-income countries, where nearly half of the population lacks access to essential healthcare services. Improving healthcare in these regions requires the introduction and scaling of technology-driven health innovation ideas that are adaptable to local contexts.By bringing together cutting-edge research on health innovation, as well as new business models and service delivery approaches from both laboratory and field settings, the book aims to provide actionable frameworks for improving healthcare outcomes, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and inspiring innovation that leads to equitable, efficient, and sustainable health systems in the Global South.

Dr. Forhad Hossain is an academic, entrepreneur, and educator committed to advancing Empathy-Driven Entrepreneurship (EDE)—an emerging approach that places human needs, dignity, and social impact at the heart of entrepreneurship and innovation.
