This collection employs a multi-archive approach utilizing newly released materials from Taiwan, internal documents from China that were transferred overseas, and documents from Japan and other relevant countries. Particularly noteworthy is the detailed elucidation of the sequence of events from the Marco Polo Bridge Incident to the full-scale war. Furthermore, it presents numerous challenges in methodology and research perspectives. He started his career as an associate professor at Hokkaido University (1998-2006) and the University of Tokyo (2006-2015), and professor since 2015. He is also a Senior Fellow of National Security Agency (2014-2018), an associate member of Science Council of Japan (2014-), the advisory member of the Committee for the Promotion of the Declassification of Diplomatic Records, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017-), the member of The Advisory Panel on Communications Concerning Territorial Integrity, the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty (2018-2019), and an academic adviser (the Young Forum) of Mt. Fuji Dialogue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe was engaged in education and research at Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica (Taipei), Beijing Center for Japanese Studies, Peking University, National Chengchi University (Taipei), and Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. His research covers Chinese\/Taiwanese diplomatic history and the contemporary international relations in East Asia.
