Building on assessments of resource endowments and policy-oriented pathway analysis, it provides a practical roadmap spanning the cleaner and lower-carbon use of fossil fuels, large-scale renewable energy development, and emerging energy technologies, while translating key concepts into actionable strategic measures. Clear figures and summary tables illustrate core concepts, metrics, and implementation pathways to support informed decision-making. Policymakers, industry strategists, engineers, researchers, and graduate students will gain a structured framework for planning, evaluating, and reducing risks in integrated energy projects.

Prof. Caineng Zou is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, elected in 2017, and a professor-level senior engineer.
