Dr. P. L. Patel is Professor Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) of Hydraulics and Water Resources in the Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, India. He joined as Director of the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur on May 21, 2024. He also served as Deputy Director of the institute (SVNIT) from September 17, 2019, to September 16, 2022. He also served the institute in the capacity of Dean (PG), Dean (R&C), Dean (Academic), and Head, Department of Civil Engineering of the institute. Prior to joining SVNIT in 2007, he served as Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Delhi College of Engineering (now DTU) for eight years.
Dr. Bimlesh Kumar is Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He earned his B.E. in civil engineering from Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, Bihar, followed by an M.E. and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. With a research focus on river hydraulics and sediment transport, Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to the field, publishing over 250 peer-reviewed articles in esteemed international journals. His excellence in research has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the R. J. Garde Research Award (2015) from the Indian Society of Hydraulics (ISH) for outstanding work in Hydraulics and Water Resources and the Prof. N. S. Govinda Rao Medal (2009-2010) from IISc Bangalore for the best thesis in Civil Engineering. Dr. Kumar also serves as Editor and Advisory Board Member for several leading peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the advancement of research in his field.
Dr. Rutuja Chavan is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. She did her graduation in 2012 and completed her master's and Ph.D. in water recourses engineering and management in 2014 and 2018, respectively, from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India. Dr. Chavan has an extensive research background in bridge scour, sediment transport, river hydrodynamics, and hydraulic structures.
Dr. Abhijit D. Lade is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, India. He earned his Ph.D. in fluvial hydraulics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, focusing on streambed instabilities and turbulence around bridge piers. He holds an M.Tech. in water resources engineering from VNIT Nagpur and a B.E. in civil engineering from Government College of Engineering, Amravati. His research interests include open-channel hydraulics, bridge scour, and sediment transport.
